John Morrison, Managing Director

I started in the industry at 18 years old as a trainee estimator for a national flooring company and stayed for twenty years moving on to various roles before joining the board of directors. I joined GTFSL in June 2014 as a shareholder and managing director. My role is to manage the commercial aspects of the business while looking at the long term strategy. It’s been a great challenge taking on a successful business with a great reputation in the industry and looking at how we build for the future.

During my time in the industry I have achieved an SVQ Level 11 in Senior Construction Management, been part of teams who have been well recognised for recycling initiatives and won flooring contractor of the year.

What do you like about your job and the industry?

No two days are ever the same with so much variation in the role and the business whether it be dealing with our clients, our fitters or the supply chain.

Away From work what do you spend your time doing?

Enjoy playing golf (badly!!) and follow Scotland all over the world with the Tartan Army.

Tommy Gaunt, Central Belt Area Manager

I joined the Flooring Industry in 1979 as a Trainee Contracts Clerk, with a national company, and progressed onto various roles including Procurement, Estimating, Sales, Business Development, Branch Manager and ultimately Director, all of which have provided me with a well rounded knowledge of the industry.
