Project overview

Towards the conclusion of 2023, we reflect on our most significant and gratifying project of the year. Morrison Construction entrusted us with the task of installing over 5,000m2 of flooring for the new Greyhope School in Torry on behalf of Aberdeen City Council.

Our approach

Despite a delayed start, commendable efforts from the General & Technical team, coupled with a well-organized project by the Morrison Construction site team, enabled us to complete the project on schedule. Kudos to everyone involved!

Products Used

Our meticulous approach began with the preparation of all floors using Mapei products. Subsequently, we expertly installed various floor coverings, employing Mapei adhesives for a secure bond. The breakdown of our contributions includes:

3000m2 of Forbo Sarlon acoustic vinyl
1000m2 of Forbo Marmoleum linoleum
50m2 of Forbo Colorex anti-static vinyl tiles
600m2 of Forbo Safestep vinyl
500m2 of Forbo Layout carpet tiles
100m2 of Forbo Coral matting
200m2 of Gerflor Taraflex sports vinyl

Amongst the primary flooring installations, we also provided and incorporated trims, nosings, expansion joints, and edge trims—all sourced from Gradus.

The Result

In addition to the floor coverings mentioned earlier, we also installed 200m2 of raised access flooring. This system comprises chipboard core panels encapsulated with steel, arranged on a grid of steel pedestals. This configuration creates a designated void, facilitating organized cabling solutions within the space.

We extend our best wishes to the school, anticipating it will serve the community very well with its state-of-the-art educational and community facility.
